EP 75 - Divided We Fall

In This Episode:

I will address the unspoken division between Africans and African Americans. It is time for us to unite and rid ourselves of the ideologies and lies that have been fed to us, to keep us divided.

One's accent does not deter RACISM. Whether you are African, Jamaican, Haitian, etc., before they hear you speak, they see the color of your skin, and that's all that matters to them.

EP 55 - 'Between' The Movie

In This Episode:

I’m going to tell you about something very special that is happening TODAY (04/12/19). It’s the London premiere of a feature film that I co-produced and play the lead role in.

I have played the lead role in very many movies over the last 2 decades, but this one is extra special because it was filmed with the intention of changing how African’s are viewed and portrayed in the entertainment industry.

EP 45 - CULTURAL APPROPRIATION

In This Episode:

There has been a lot of talk about Cultural Appropriation these days, and even though I understand where a lot of people are coming from, I still think there is a bit of a double standard regarding the issue.

I know this is a very controversial episode, but it's my opinion, and I would love to hear yours too.

EP 41 - Raising Confident Kids

In This Episode:

These days it seems as if the world is getting a little too ‘in their feelings’. I was watching the news a few weeks ago, and they were talking about a lady who was pissed that even though her kids didn’t make it to the top 3 in a competition, they didn’t get trophies. So she decided to buy trophies for them by herself.

It got me thinking, are we (especially the people outside Africa) raising our kids to be too emotional? Are we raising them to be able to handle the real world?

I don’t know about you, but I will raise my kids in the African way. To be confident in themselves whether they win or not, and to learn to work harder to achieve their goals; instead of rewarding them when they really do not deserve it.

EP 38 - The Truth About Africa and Refugees

In This Episode:

When you speak of refugees, you often think of people fleeing their countries to seek refuge in America or Europe. But did you know that according to the UNHCR, “Sub-Saharan Africa hosts more than 26 percent of the world’s refugee population” !!!

Yet, we are made to believe that Africa is so horrible and so much of a sh**hole continent that no one would ever want go to there.

EP 32 - The 4c Natural Hair

In This Episode:
There has been a lot of controversy around 'Natural Hair' and how you choose to wear it or protect it.

Some black women seem to think that other black women who choose to wear wigs and do several different protective styles do not 'embrace their kink and curls'.

So I decided to share my thoughts on this issue. I hope to hear from you after you listen

EP 31 - American Schools

In This Episode:

A lot of American School Students are very privileged and sometimes, I think some take it for granted. We have some very great schools in Africa, but a majority of the schools, especially those funded by the government; aren’t the best.

So you can imagine my shock when I hear that some students in this First World Country complained about ‘their rights being violated, and the school authorities not caring about them’ because their SODAS had been reduced, and they were given more vegetables at their FREE lunch.

Sometimes people need to see what others are going through in other parts of the world so that they can value where they are and the privileges they have.

EP 30 - The African Narrative

In This Episode:

Since the release of Black Panther, there has been a massive increase in the love and appreciation of African Culture, African Fashion, African Music, and African Dance. As a matter of fact, more people have gotten their DNA tested to determine their Ancestry, and people now celebrate whatever percent of African they have in them!

We are very happy to see all the love people have for Africa, but we can’t help but wonder when the AFRICAN PEOPLE would receive as much love and acceptance as AFRICA.

EP 14 - THE AFRICAN SKIN

 In This Episode:

Growing up, we were made to believe that the lighter skinned women were more beautiful than the darker skinned women. Today, that is no longer the case. We have seen a rise in the appreciation of Dark Skin. Women are proud of their black skin and their amazing melanin.

However, we have once again lost the narrative because now, dark skin is the only acceptable form of African skin. According to today's standards, if you aren't dark then you aren't truly African. Wrong!
Some Africans are very light, some are extremely dark. We have blonde hair and colored eyes too.

You cannot put Africans in a box. We are a diverse people.

EP 13 - THE AFRICAN INSTINCT

In This Episode:

Many thousands of years ago, the Egyptians created Pyramids, Statues and other amazing architectural structures that still leave archaeologists in awe.

Have you ever wondered how they were able to do all of this, without any formal or advanced training?

It’s something that I like to call 'The African Instinct'

EP 9 - Cartoons & Pornography

In This Episode:

I found out something about a month ago that absolutely blew my mind. It is crazy what our kids could be exposed to.

Some sick individuals decided to create a porn industry out of cartoon characters. What kills me the most, is that some even sicker individuals decided that it would be a great idea to create porn using cartoon characters from shows that our children love.

This episode is aimed at parents and guardians. We need to be very careful and do what’s necessary to protect our kids from the evils of this world.

EP 8 - BLACK ON BLACK RACISM

In This Episode:

When you hear the word RACISM, immediately you think of a white man oppressing a “black man” or “people of color”.

In the USA, when you say “black man” or “people of color”, immediately you think an African American man, but what about the African Immigrant? What about the Latinos? The Indians? The Caribbean’s? Are we not people of color too?

Black on black racism exists and it’s about time we start talking about it.

EPISODE 3 - SLEEPOVERS

In This Episode:

When my kids were much younger, we had this on going battle about sleepovers. They always got invited to different people’s houses for sleepovers, but I wasn’t a fan of the idea. Especially if I didn’t know a lot about the person's family.
To many, I was being overprotective, but to me, I was doing what I felt was right.

I’m going to share some of the reasons why I made this decision, and hope that it will be of help to someone out there.
