EP 50 - AFRICA RISING

In This Episode:

I will be celebrating Black History Month with a difference. Instead of concentrating on the history of Africans after slavery, I would take you straight to Africa, it’s people and entertainment.

I want you to experience the rich culture of our people,  some great movies and series that educate you about Africa.  As I celebrate my 50th episode, I would love to share the greatness of Africa and her children. We are rising together as a people and the world is paying attention.

EP 47 - Christmas As An African Child

In This Episode:

I was feeling very nostalgic this Christmas, so I decided to take you all on a journey of how I used to spend Christmas as a kid in Africa!

It was so much fun back then because we weren’t bothered about putting up a tree filled with lights and ornaments or what gifts we got. We just loved gathering together to spend time with our family, friends, and neighbors.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

EP 14 - THE AFRICAN SKIN

 In This Episode:

Growing up, we were made to believe that the lighter skinned women were more beautiful than the darker skinned women. Today, that is no longer the case. We have seen a rise in the appreciation of Dark Skin. Women are proud of their black skin and their amazing melanin.

However, we have once again lost the narrative because now, dark skin is the only acceptable form of African skin. According to today's standards, if you aren't dark then you aren't truly African. Wrong!
Some Africans are very light, some are extremely dark. We have blonde hair and colored eyes too.

You cannot put Africans in a box. We are a diverse people.

EP 9 - Cartoons & Pornography

In This Episode:

I found out something about a month ago that absolutely blew my mind. It is crazy what our kids could be exposed to.

Some sick individuals decided to create a porn industry out of cartoon characters. What kills me the most, is that some even sicker individuals decided that it would be a great idea to create porn using cartoon characters from shows that our children love.

This episode is aimed at parents and guardians. We need to be very careful and do what’s necessary to protect our kids from the evils of this world.

EPISODE 3 - SLEEPOVERS

In This Episode:

When my kids were much younger, we had this on going battle about sleepovers. They always got invited to different people’s houses for sleepovers, but I wasn’t a fan of the idea. Especially if I didn’t know a lot about the person's family.
To many, I was being overprotective, but to me, I was doing what I felt was right.

I’m going to share some of the reasons why I made this decision, and hope that it will be of help to someone out there.
