EP 88 - Happy? International Women's Day

March is women's month, and every year we have a different theme, yet our problems are still the same. I will always celebrate the strength and resilience of women. Still, I also look forward to when I can genuinely, happily celebrate women's month. Knowing that Women are finally at a place in this world where we are no longer treated as the weaker gender, where we do not have to fight for our rights, where we are respected and acknowledged in society.

Still, Happy Women's Month!

EP 74 - Menstrual Hygiene In Africa

In This Episode:

Yesterday was Menstrual Hygiene Day, and people all over the world joined their voices through social media, to raise awareness and bring period education to all.

However, there is still a group of women who do not have access to the internet and social media. To this day, these women cannot get staple menstrual hygiene products, and even when they are made available, they can't afford it. Some of their religions and cultures also set dreadful rules that stifle these women during their period.

How can we join forces and end period poverty? I believe that someday soon, we can live in a world where no woman or girl is held back because of her period.

EP 46 - An African Amazon (Honorable Martha Karua)

In This Episode:

Last week, I had the opportunity of meeting a wonderful Kenyan woman. I call her an ’African Amazon’ because she defies the standards of what is expected of an African woman and risks even her own life to seek what is true and just.

Honorable Martha Karua is our African Amazon of the month.
