Growing up in Benin City, there was so much culture, history, and art. I grew up learning about all the beautiful artifacts created in Benin and also how a lot of them were stolen from us by the 'White Man'. This didn't happen only in the Benin Kingdom but across the whole of Africa.

So you can imagine my joy when I saw an article about an artifact being returned to Ethiopia. Could this be the beginning of an era? I think that It is about time all the stolen artifacts are returned to their rightful countries.

As the Black History Month Celebration comes to an end, we have decided to share with you, the oldest surviving kingdom in the world, The Great Benin Empire which is located in Nigeria, Africa.

This year, our aim during Black History Month was to educate and remind people about African history before the slavery. Even though this month is coming to an end, we must not forget to continue celebrating Black History and the beauty of Africa and Africans.
